Crescent Fort Rouge United Church (CFRUC)
Crescent Fort Rouge United Church is a place where the spirit is nurtured, the community is embraced, justice is served, and Creation is respected. Crescent Fort Rouge is a safe place for all people to worship regardless of race, creed, age, ability, cultural background, sexual orientation or gender expression. CFRUC is a safe space for everyone to be who they are. We are a place of human connections.
The Crescent Arts Centre was officially formed early in 2017. Originally the activity was conducted by Crescent Fort Rouge United Church itself. But as with all great ideas, it has taken on its own life and has launched independently. It maintains the ethos of providing affordable and welcoming space to the arts and supporting both emerging and professional artists across a number of disciplines.
CAC's mandate is to create an inclusive community hub that provides an essential home for the gatherings that feed our souls.
The Crescent Arts Centre was launched to advance the use of a century old church for the arts. CAC is known for its excellence as a performance venue with acoustics which are known widely to be exceptional. In recent years, the use of the building began to increase as it fills the need for a concert venue of this size. It has additional space which has become a welcoming rehearsal hall for a number of theatre companies and choirs. The vision is to keep enhancing the use of the building for the use of the arts community.
The Crescent Arts Centre has attracted great partnerships with other arts organizations. We welcome new and emerging ideas and wish to support innovation.
